Books or Movies?

Dear Form 5SK students,

I hope this posting finds you in great health. For this week, I would like you to write an essay on the topic "Would You Rather Read a Book or Watch a Movie Version of a Story?" In this writing, you should compare and contrast between books and movies. Which one do you prefer? State your opinion, write whatever you feel or what you think.

Your writing should be about 300 to 350 words. Please type your essay and email it to me at suzynarita@yahoo.com. I hope you can complete this task in 3 days time. This is important as I need to collect some data regarding the task I assigned you.

Dear Mr Kilmer - Important Events

Dear students,

I hope this posting finds you in good health. Please take note that henceforth, I will assign you some homework (written or interactive) through this blog. You can leave any comments if you wish to respond to any of the postings.

For a start, I want you to go to the link below and read the notes on "Dear Mr Kilmer". Please download, print it out and paste the notes in your English Literature Exercise Book. If you do not have a printer, you can copy them down in your book.

Now,

Based on the novel you have studied, write about an event that makes you angry. Give reasons for your choice with close reference to the text.

A GUIDELINE:

•  1st paragraph: State the name of the novel and the event of your choice.
•  2nd paragraph: Your first statement- Reason 1 (Topic sentence). Followed by the evidence/s (Supporting details)
• 3rd paragraph: Your second statement- Reason 2 (Topic sentence). Followed by the evidence/s (Supporting details)
• 4th paragraph: Your third statement- Reason 3 (Topic sentence). Followed by the evidence/s (Supporting details)
• 5th paragraph: Closure- Your reflection. What you feel about the event, how you relate the event to your life in order to make you a better person (personal opinion).

NOTE:

1. Please do not bother counting the number of words for this type of question.

2. Make sure you write in proper paragraphs.

So, that is about all for today. Please make sure you do all your work accordingly. Even though we are now under MCO, that is not an excuse for you to not do your revision. Just stay at home, be healthy and be patient.
